Homemade Pizza !!

I always wanted to make a good homemade pizza. It was always a hit or miss situation. I promised my kid that I would make cheese pizza for dinner. He likes pizza so much. I wanted to make it from scratch. Since the weather was kind of moody, I started making dough before 5 hrs for it to raise well and it did. I made one cheese pizza and one veggie pizza(with just onions and bell pepper). It turned out delicious without drying or becoming hard. The crust was soft than my previous tries.Let us look into the recipe.



Ingredients


For Pizza Dough


1. All purpose flour - 3 cups

2. Yeast - 7 gm

3. Warm water - 1 1/4 cups

4. Sugar - 1 tsp

5. Salt - 1 tsp

6.Olive oil - 2 tbsp

7. Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup

8. Parmesan cheese- 1/2 cup


For Pizza Sauce


1. Tomato - 3 large

2. Red chilli -2

3. Onion - 1/4 cup cubed

4. Garlic - 1 clove minced

4. Oregano - 1 tsp

5. Basil - 1 tsp

6.Salt - As needed


Steps Involved:


1. In a cup add the warm water,sugar and yeast and mix it. After 5 minutes, the yeast is activated.Please note that the water should not be too hot or cold.

2. Now in a large bowl add in the flour,salt,oil and the water and mix it. Transfer the dough to a working place and knead it for 10 minutes. Set a timer and knead it for the whole 10 minutes. The dough should not be sticky and when you touch it bounce back.

3.Add little oil to the bowl and place the dough there and cover it a cling wrap or kitchen towel. Let it rest till it doubles in size




4. Add some water in a pan and let it come to boiling stage. Slit the tomatoes on one end to remove the skin after blanching.Now add in tomatoes,onion and chilli to water and let it boil for two minutes. Drain the water and peel the tomato skin and grind the mixture to a smooth paste

5. Add some oil to the pan and saute the garlic for few seconds and add in the mixture and mix well. Now add oregano,basil and salt and let it simmer for 15 minutes


6. Preheat the oven to 450 F. Take the raised dough and spread it on the pizza pan. Apply the tomato sauce on it.


7.Now add the cheese and toppings to the pizza. Cook the dough for 15 minutes.
